We understand that clarity on fees and payment is essential when planning private maternity care. This section provides guidance for both insured and self-pay patients, including those travelling internationally.
Dr. Subramanian is recognized by all major private medical insurance providers, including Bupa, AXA PPP, Vitality, Cigna, and WPA.
Private maternity care is often managed differently from other medical specialties. You must contact your insurer before your first appointment to confirm:
1. Maternity Coverage
Does your policy specifically cover private obstetrics, or is
it only for complications?
2. Coverage Limits
What are the specific monetary limits for Consultant
Obstetrician fees, Consultant Anaesthetist fees, and Hospital
accommodation/theatre costs?
3. Direct Billing
Will the insurer pay Dr. Subramanian directly, or will you be
reimbursed?
We welcome self-pay patients and offer transparent package pricing to provide financial certainty.
Your total cost for private maternity care at King's College Hospital will involve three main components, and it is vital you budget for all three:
1. Consultant Fees (Dr. Subramanian)
Covered by your chosen Package Fee.
2. Additional Consultant Fees
Separate fees for the Consultant Anaesthetist and Consultant
Paediatrician. These are typically settled separately.
3. Hospital Fees
Charges from King's College Hospital for your private room,
nursing care, use of the delivery/theatre suite, and hospital
consumables. This is often the largest component of the total
cost.
For patients traveling from overseas, we require a non-refundable deposit upon booking and expect all estimated costs to be settled in full prior to the 36th week of pregnancy. We can provide detailed cost breakdowns upon request.
